Cold Weather Chic...Courtesy of Neiman Marcus and La'Dan's Closet

Well I dont know about the rest of you, but personally I find Fall and Winter to be the two most fashionable seasons of the year. when The coats, the scarves, the hats, and OMG the boots hit the sleeves I am overcome with emotion. Someone call my sponsor, because I'm about break every rule of Shoppers Anonymous...and break the bank in the process.   I really love how a scarf or a hat can really change the way a whole outfit looks... And can have too many pairs of boots??  I mean the choices are endless.... Long ones, short ones, rain boots, snow boots and the list goes on..... So, these are a few of my favorite picks....some are on my wish list, but a few you can find in my closet...

The Shift Dress

I recently discovered that I'm really in love with the shift dress.  I find something so Audrey Hepburn and Michelle Obama-ish about them (new word, I said it first).  After doing some research, I found out that the shift dress first emerged in the 1920s, but really exploded onto the fashion scene in the 1960s.  People have always told me I have an old soul, but I really enjoy how glamorous, feminine, and timeless these dresses are.  I like to dress up, however I like the fact that these dresses are really comfortable yet can be dressed up or down.  Here are a few of my favorites.  http://www.dorothyperkins.com is definitely a go to place for the shift dress!

Eloquii by The Limited

As I'm sure most of you know The Limited presented its new plus size line Eloquii several days ago.  I must admit I was quite interested to see what I would find and whether or not I would find the items too stuffy.  I like to look classy, but with an edge.  I am pleased to say that this line has a little for everyone.  I found quite a few wear to work pieces, as well as some after 5 attire as well.  How do you ladies feel about Eloquii? And for those of you have bought an item, please let us know how the fit is?  Is it true to size, cut small, or does it run large??

These are a few of my favorites.

To wear or not to wear: Skinny jeans, jeggings, and leggings?

I've been noticing lately that leggings, jeggings, and skinny jeans are all the rave for everybody...from infants to the elderly.  I must admit even I have a quite a few of all of the above and find them to be fashionable while being really comfortable.  But let me tell you along with any good thing comes the bad side.  So, here it goes, you know what really grinds my gears??

1.  Leggings with a shirt cropped too high or one thats too fitted.  Nothing wrong with a little showing...but if your shirt is cropped up to your bra and you have on tight pants too I think it leaves little for the imagination.  That goes for the big booty Judy's out there too (this is without spanx).  Trust me I am quite comfortable with all of me, but I find it unpleasing to see everything all hanging out.  To me my cellulite has its place and all out for the world to see is not it.

2.  I hate to see poorly shaped leggings...like too loose or so tight I can see the elastic stretching..  I mean please invest in a good quality pair that has alot of give and stretch to them.

3.  Leggings in really weird prints that I think are made to make you look a fool.  I will not put my 200+ pound body in a pair of cow print leggings.  I think this will really make me an easy target for my kids and I wouldn't blame them if they said "Moooo"

4.  I hate capri leggings...to me they look gym clothes... If you working out I think it works, but otherwise leave them in your closet.

Personally, these are my no's when it comes to leggings, jeggings, and skinny jeans...Tell me what are some of your pet peeves??

The Closet Chronicles....

This week's closet feature is Ms. Ramona Okonya... Ramona is a graduate school friend of mine and someone who I always thought had ulitmate swag!  I mean swagu like my boyfriend Kanye says...it was always original, fresh, one of a kind...I mean I really cannot describe it.  An Atlanta native, Ramona, now teaches in Seoul, Korea and is definitely able to be fashionable wherever she resides.  She is my go to person for creating a high end look from thrift store finds.

1.  What is your fashion style.
I would describe my style as thrifty and trendy.

2. How did you develop your fashion sense.
My fashion sense basically coincides with a couple of phrases “Don’t match, Blend” and “Think outside the box”.

3. Who are some of your style icons?
Dr. Caroline Yielding and Amber Rose or anyone who styles catch my attention.

4. Name some of your favorite brands or stores.
My FAVORITE store is a thrift store!

5. Name something in your closet you could not live without.
My shoes (ALLof them).

6. What new item do you have your eyes on for Fall 2011
Knee high combat boots.
